Jasbir Sandhu is running as a NDP candidate from the electoral district of Surrey North in British Columbia, Canada. .Surrey North is a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons since 1988. It covers the northern part of Surrey. It is home to 106,904 residents in 2001, more than 46 percent of which are immigrants -- 21 percent of residents are East Indian, the second-highest concentration in Canada Jasbir Sandhu has been a Program Manager at the Justice Institute of BC since 1996. He is also the owner of My Village Restaurant in Surrey. Jasbir is a Board Member of the Vancity Community Foundation, which supports affordable housing and homeless shelters. He is also a spokesperson for the Professor Mohan Singh Memorial Foundation, and a volunteer for the United Way. Jasbir has worked as a Business Analyst, a customs officer, a self-employed Building Contractor, a truck driver, taxi driver and factory worker. He has a Masters of Business Administration from Royal Roads University and a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University. Jasbir has lived in North Surrey for 29 years.
